Skincare
- Korean Serums60Serums carry the highest concentration of actives in a Korean routine, so they are where the treatment happens. Pick one by the problem you want it to solve and check the actives, not the claims on the front.
- Korean Moisturizers55The moisturizer seals in every layer before it. Korean creams range from water-light gels for oily skin to rich barrier creams for dry skin; the base matters as much as the actives.
- Korean Sunscreens40Korean sunscreens are known for light, white-cast-free textures and modern UV filters that are not yet approved in the US. SPF50+ PA++++ is the standard; the difference between them is finish and feel.
- Korean Toners35In K-beauty a toner is a watery hydration step, not an astringent. It preps damp skin for the layers after it, and the gentlest ones can be patted in several times.
- Korean Cleansers30The second step of a Korean double cleanse, after an oil cleanser. A good one leaves skin clean without feeling tight; low-pH gels and gentle amino-acid foams are the usual picks.
- Korean Sheet Masks25Single-use sheets soaked in essence, left on for 15 to 20 minutes. They are a concentrated dose of hydration, and the essence left in the pack can be patted in afterwards.
- Korean Toner Pads20Pre-soaked pads that tone, and often gently exfoliate, in one swipe. Check whether a pad carries an acid before using it every day.
- Korean Cleansing Balms and Oils15The first step of a double cleanse. Oil-based cleansers dissolve sunscreen and makeup that water-based cleansers leave behind, then emulsify and rinse away.
- Korean Eye Creams15The skin around the eyes is thinner than the rest of the face, so eye creams carry gentler doses of actives such as peptides, retinoids and caffeine.
- Korean Spot Treatments15Targeted treatments for individual blemishes: hydrocolloid patches that flatten and protect a spot, and concentrated actives dabbed onto it.
- Korean Essences15Lighter than a serum and richer than a toner, an essence is the hydrating step at the heart of a Korean routine. Ferments and snail mucin are the classic bases.
- Korean Lip Care15Lip balms, sleeping masks and treatments. Overnight lip masks are the Korean staple: a thick layer at night, wiped off in the morning.
- Korean Face Masks15Wash-off and overnight masks. Clay and exfoliating masks are rinsed after minutes; sleeping masks go on last at night and seal everything in.
- Korean Exfoliants10Chemical exfoliants dissolve dead cells instead of scrubbing them off. Two or three times a week is plenty for most skin, followed by a moisturizer and, in the morning, SPF.
- Korean Eye Patches8Hydrogel patches soaked in essence, laid under the eyes for 15 to 20 minutes to depuff and hydrate.
- Korean Face Mists8Hydrating sprays to refresh skin through the day or set makeup. Pat them in rather than letting them evaporate, or they can leave skin drier than before.
Makeup
- Korean Lip Tints30Korean lip tints stain rather than coat, so the color lasts through meals. Water tints are sheer and buildable, velvet tints blur, and glossy tints give the juicy finish.
- Korean Blushes16Korean blush is worn diffused high on the cheeks for a flushed, just-pinched look. Cream and liquid blushes melt into skin; powders give a soft-focus finish.
- Korean Cushion Foundations14The Korean invention: liquid foundation in a sponge compact, pressed on with a puff. Shades run lighter and are named by undertone, so check the undertone code before the number.
- Korean Eyeshadows14Korean eyeshadow palettes lean on soft, wearable tones and fine shimmers rather than heavy pigment. Most are built around one mood in a few shades.
- Korean Concealers10Korean concealers come in tip, pot and palette formats for spots, dark circles and redness. Pick a shade slightly lighter than your cushion for under the eyes.
- Korean Foundations and BB Creams10Liquid foundations and BB creams for when you want more control than a cushion gives. Korean formulas favor a natural, skin-like finish over full matte coverage.
- Korean Lipsticks8Bullet lipsticks in the blurred, velvet and satin finishes Korean makeup favors, often worn dabbed on for a gradient lip.
- Korean Setting Powders8Loose and pressed powders that set cushion and foundation and control shine without dulling the glow.
- Korean Lip Glosses and Oils8Glosses and lip oils for a high-shine, plumped finish, worn alone or over a tint.
- Korean Mascaras6Korean mascaras are built for straight, short lashes: curl-holding, smudge-proof formulas that keep lashes lifted all day.
- Korean Brow Makeup6Pencils, powders and gels for the soft, straight brow shape Korean makeup is known for.
- Korean Eyeliners6Fine-tipped liquid and gel liners for subtle definition. Brown and soft black are the everyday Korean shades.
- Korean Highlighters and Contour6Soft shading and highlight for dimension without a heavy sculpted look, in shades tuned for lighter and neutral undertones.
- Korean Primers5Primers smooth texture, blur pores and help cushion and foundation last. Tone-up primers also correct sallowness or redness.
