Some By Mi’s spot patch is a thin, clear hydrocolloid dressing that absorbs what comes out of a blemish and keeps dirt, irritation and fingers away from it. The centre, where it absorbs, is thicker than the bevelled edge, so it blends in and stays put. Eighteen patches in two sizes come on a film with precut lines, in a sterilized pouch.

The ingredients doing the work

  • Hydrocolloid

    Cellulose gum is the absorbent part: it soaks up exudate from the spot and swells into a soft gel, which is why the patch turns white. The polymers around it make it sticky and flexible.

  • Polyurethane film

    The thin, clear top layer. Some By Mi describes it as breathable and waterproof, so it shields the spot from outside contaminants without trapping it.

How to use

Clean, stick, replace

    Clean

    Gently cleanse the area around the spot and pat it dry.

  2. 2

    Peel

    Lift a patch off the film along its precut line, choosing the size that covers the spot.

  3. 3

    Press

    Place it over the spot and press the edges down. It can be worn alone or under makeup.

  4. 4

    Replace

    Swap it for a fresh one once it turns white, usually after 4 to 8 hours. If it doesn’t peel off easily, soften it with warm water first.
