Product details

A Sharp So Simple Waterproof Pencil Liner standing on an ivory table against a dusty pink wall, between a teacup and pink cards

Slim + waterproof

A 2 mm twist-up pencil liner that draws fine, precise lines and holds up to water, sweat and oil.

CLIO’s slim auto pencil glides on smoothly without crumbling, so it’s easy to draw a delicate line right along the lashes. Darker shades define the eye, while the soft beiges and rose double as a pencil for the under-eye and for softly extending the corners.

What’s inside

The ingredients doing the work

  • Waterproof film formers

Flexible film formers that set the line in place so it resists water, sweat and oil without smudging.

No. 1, 16 of 21 on the list

  • Carnauba wax + ceresin

A blend of waxes that gives the slim lead its structure, for a smooth glide that doesn’t crumble.

  • Rich pigments

Iron oxides and titanium dioxide for clear colour in a single stroke, from deep black to pale ivory.

How to use

Fine lines in four steps

  1. 1

    Twist

Twist up just a little of the soft lead at a time.

  2. 2

    Line

Draw a fine line close to the lashes, from the inner to the outer corner.

  3. 3

    Extend

Flick the line slightly past the outer corner for a soft wing.

  4. 4

    Brighten

Use 06 Vanilla Beige or 07 Creamy Ivory under the eye to add soft volume.

Still sharp in the afternoon

A delicate line that stays put through water, sweat and long days, without smudging.

Good to know

  • Shades: 01 Black, 02 Brown, 03 Black Brown, 04 Dark Brown, 05 Ash Brown, 06 Vanilla Beige, 07 Creamy Ivory and 09 Rose.
  • 01 to 04 are deep shades for a defined line; 05 Ash Brown is a muted, misty brown; 06, 07 and 09 are soft shades for the under-eye and for gently extending the corners.
  • The lead is soft so it glides smoothly, which also means it can break: twist out only a little at a time, and twist the other way to retract it if too much comes out.
  • Waterproof: remove with an oil cleanser or cleansing balm, not water alone.
